"The Good News"

An Astounding Promise! "Jehovah himself gives the saying; The women telling the good news are a large army. Psalms 68:11
And it must prove to be for a sign and for a witness to Jehovah of armies in the land of Egypt; for they will cry out to Jehovah because of the oppressors, and He will send them a savior, even a grand one, who will actually deliver them. Isaiah 19:20

There is one first, [saying] to Zion: "Look! Here they are!" and to Jerusalem I shall give a bringer of good news. How comely upon the mountains are the feet of the one bringing good news, the one publishing peace, the one bringing good news of something better, the one publishing salvation, the one saying to Zion: "Your God has become King!" Listen! Your own watchmen have raised [their] voice. In unison they keep crying out joyfully; for it will be eye into eye that they will see when Jehovah gathers back Zion. Become cheerful, cry out joyfully in unison, YOU devastated places of Jerusalem, for Jehovah has comforted his people; he has repurchased Jerusalem. Jehovah has bared his holy arm before the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth must see the Salvation of our God.

Turn away, turn away, get out of there, touch nothing unclean; get out from the midst of her, keep yourselves clean, YOU who are carrying the utensils of Jehovah. For YOU people will get out in no panic, and YOU will go in no flight. For Jehovah will be going even before YOU, and the God of Israel will be YOUR rear guard. Look! My servant will act with insight. Isaiah 41:27; 52:7-13
The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord Jehovah is upon me, for the reason that Jehovah has anointed me to tell good news to the meek ones. He has sent me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to those taken captive and the wide opening [of the eyes] even to the prisoners; Isaiah 61:1

And, YOU sons of Zion, be joyful and rejoice in Jehovah YOUR God; for he will be bound to give YOU the autumn rain in right measure, and he will bring down upon YOU people a downpour, autumn rain and spring rain, as at the first. And the threshing floors must be full of [cleansed] grain, and the press vats must overflow with new wine and oil. And I will make compensation to YOU for the years that the locust, the creeping, unwinged locust, and the cockroach and the caterpillar have eaten, my great military force that I have sent among YOU. And YOU will certainly eat, eating and becoming satisfied, and YOU will be bound to Praise the name of Jehovah YOUR God, who has done with YOU so wonderfully; and my people will not be ashamed to time indefinite. And YOU people will have to know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am Jehovah YOUR God and there is no other. And my people will not be ashamed to time indefinite. "And after that it must occur that I shall pour out my spirit on every sort of flesh, and YOUR sons and YOUR daughters will certainly prophesy. As for YOUR old men, dreams they will dream. As for YOUR young men, visions they will see. And even on the men servants and on the maid servants in those days I shall pour out my spirit. "And I will give portents in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and columns of smoke. The sun itself will be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and fear-inspiring day of Jehovah. And it must occur that everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah will get away safe; for in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will prove to be the escaped ones, just as Jehovah has said, and in among the survivors, whom Jehovah is calling." Joel 2:23-32.

Because David was a man after God's own heart, a man with a tender conscience toward his Creator, God made a separate and distinct covenant with him in addition to the covenant He had made with Israel. Accordingly, when David wanted to build a house for God, the Almighty sent a message to David through the prophet Nathan: "When your days are fulfilled and you rest with your fathers, I will set up your seed after you, who will come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build a house for My name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. I will be his Father, and he shall be My son. If he commits iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men and with the blows of the sons of men. But My mercy shall not depart from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I removed from before you. And your house and your kingdom shall be established forever before you. Your throne shall be established forever." 2 Samuel 7:12-16

Understanding the scope of this promise-that God would establish David's throne forever-is a challenging study. The best-understood aspect of this covenant finds fulfillment in Jesus the Messiah-born of Mary, a literal descendant of David-ruling in the Kingdom of God. Through the prophet Jeremiah, God prophesies of this time: "Look! There are days coming," is the utterance of Jehovah, "and I will raise up to David a righteous sprout. And a king will certainly reign and act with discretion and execute justice and righteousness in the land. In his days Judah will be saved, and Israel itself will reside in security. And this is his name with which he will be called, Jehovah Is Our LORD of Righteousness." Jeremiah 23:5,6. Before Mary conceived Jesus, an angel told her: "And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the LORD Our God will give him the throne of His father David" Luke 1:31,32. The word conceived can be said to mean "formed" in the simplest of terms. It is used as the past tense of conceive. A female who has successfully become pregnant with offspring is said to have conceived. The Bible has yet another mark of divine inspiration. That mark is its fulfilled prophecies—history written in advance. Some of these are prophecies concerning Jesus Christ. For example, over 700 years before Jesus’ birth, the Hebrew Scriptures accurately foretold that this Promised One would be born "in Bethlehem of Judea." Micah 5:2; Matthew 2:1-6. These passages show that Jesus was destined to sit on the throne of David. Although these events are sure to come to pass, many mistakenly believe it has already been fulfilled in Christ. However, it will not be fulfilled in full until He returns.

Human rulers on the throne of David. Another part of God's promise to David was that his descendants would continue to rule over the people of Israel until God established His Kingdom on earth. Misunderstanding when God will establish the Kingdom has led many to mistakenly assume that this promise was fulfilled long ago in Christ and that it no longer has any meaning. Contrary to people's concept that the Kingdom of God is already on earth in the form of the church or in the hearts of human beings, the Bible plainly says that God will establish His Kingdom at Christ's second coming. "And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be brought to ruin. And the kingdom itself will not be passed on to any other people. It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite; forasmuch as you beheld that out of the mountain a stone was cut not by hands, and [that] it crushed the iron, the copper, the molded clay, the silver and the gold. The grand God himself has made known to the king what is to occur after this. And the dream is reliable, and the interpretation of it is trustworthy." Daniel 2:44,45. And the seventh angel blew his trumpet. And loud voices occurred in heaven, saying: "The kingdom of the world did become the kingdom of our LORD and of His Christ, and he will rule as king forever and ever." Revelation 11:15. Although men have preached the message of the Kingdom with varying levels of understanding for thousands of years, the Kingdom's appearance on earth (New Jerusalem) has not yet occurred. When it does, the Kingdom of God will replace the world's human governments. The word gospel is derived from the old Anglo-Saxon word meaning "good message" or "good news." And Jesus set out on a tour of all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the good news of the kingdom and curing every sort of disease and every sort of infirmity. Matthew 9:35. With the understanding that Our LORD God has not yet established this Kingdom on earth, let's consider some of the Bible's promises that a descendant of David would continue to rule over Israel's descendants. In 2 Chronicles 13:5 we find that "the LORD God of Israel gave the dominion over Israel to David forever, to him and his sons, by a covenant of salt." Like the preserving properties of salt, a covenant of salt was one that would last. God guaranteed that the "house of David"-his descendants -would continue to exist forever. 2 Chronicles 21:7 And Jehovah did not want to bring the house of David to ruin, for the sake of the covenant that he had concluded with David, and just as he had said he would give him and his sons a lamp always. Matthew 5:13-16 And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come. Matthew 24:14. 2 Chronicles 21:7. "YOU are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its strength, how will its saltness be restored? It is no longer usable for anything but to be thrown outside to be trampled on by men. "YOU are the light of the world. A city cannot be hid when situated upon a mountain. People light a lamp and set it, not under the measuring basket, but upon the lampstand, and it shines upon all those in the house. Likewise let YOUR light shine before men, that they may see YOUR fine works and Give Glory to YOUR Father who is in the heavens. Matthew 5:13-16

Because David's descendants did not continue to obey God, some have mistakenly believed that God was released from His covenant with David. Yet this was not the case. Of David Our LORD God said: To time indefinite I shall preserve my loving-kindness toward him, And my covenant will be faithful to him. And I shall certainly set up his seed forever And his throne as the days of heaven. If his sons leave my law And in my judicial decisions they do not walk, If they profane my own statutes And they do not keep my own commandments, I must also turn my attention to their transgression even with a rod And to their error even with strokes. But my loving-kindness I shall not break off from him, Nor shall I prove false with regard to my faithfulness. I shall not profane my covenant, And the expression out of my lips I shall not change. Once I have sworn in my holiness, To David I will not tell lies. His seed itself will prove to be even to time indefinite, And his throne as the sun in front of me. As the moon it will be firmly established for time indefinite, And [as] a faithful witness in the skies." Se´lah. Psalm 89:28-37; compare with 2 Chronicles 13:5 Jeremiah 33:15-21. David, a physical ancestor of Jesus Christ, considered the everlasting question of man's purpose as he contemplated the glory of the heavens. "What is man that You are mindful of him," he asked, "and the son of man that You visit him?" Psalms 8:4. We continue to ask, "Is this life all there is?" Through David, God revealed He would intervene dramatically in human affairs, He would make "wars cease to the end of the earth," and He would "be exalted among the nations" Psalms 46:1-11. Through David, God established a dynasty of kings over Israel. Christ Himself, as "the Son of David, the Son of Abraham" Matthew 1:1, was born to inherit David's throne Luke 1:32. We learn of a direct relationship between the dynasty of kings God promised would descend from Abraham and David and the Kingdom of God preached by Jesus Christ. Also, in all the nations the good news has to be preached first. But when they are leading YOU along to deliver YOU up, do not be anxious before hand about what to speak; but whatever is given YOU in that hour, speak this, for YOU are not the ones speaking, but the holy spirit is. Furthermore, brother will deliver brother over to death, and a father a child, and children will rise up against parents and have them put to death; and YOU will be objects of hatred by all people on account of my name. But he that has endured to the end is the one that will be saved. Mark 13:10-13. "And my servant David will be king over them, and one shepherd is what they will all come to have; and in my judicial decisions they will walk, and my statutes they will keep, and they will certainly carry them out. And they will actually dwell upon the land that I gave to my servant, to Jacob, in which YOUR forefathers dwelt, and they will actually dwell upon it, they and their sons and their sons’ sons to time indefinite, and David my servant will be their chieftain to time indefinite. "And I will conclude with them a covenant of peace; an indefinitely lasting covenant is what there will come to be with them. And I will place them and multiply them and place my sanctuary in the midst of them to time indefinite. And my tabernacle will actually prove to be over them, and I shall certainly become their God, and they themselves will become my people. And the nations will have to know that I, Jehovah, am sanctifying Israel when my sanctuary comes to be in the midst of them to time indefinite." Ezekiel 37:1-28 Jesus said: Then he said to his disciples: "On this account I say to YOU, Quit being anxious about YOUR souls as to what YOU will eat or about YOUR bodies as to what YOU will wear. For the soul is worth more than food and the body than clothing. Mark well that the ravens neither sow seed nor reap, and they have neither barn nor store house, and yet God feeds them. Of how much more worth are YOU than birds?

YOU by being anxious can add a cubit to his life span? If, therefore, YOU cannot do the least thing, why be anxious about the remaining things? Mark well how the lilies grow; they neither toil nor spin; but I tell YOU, Not even Sol´o·mon in all his glory was arrayed as one of these. If, now, God thus clothes the vegetation in the field that today exists and tomorrow is cast into an oven, how much rather will he clothe YOU, YOU with little faith! David's rule, of course was then, and can only occur after God sends His Son again with all the other holy ones through Christ during the trumpet sound at the return of Christ. The kingdom God established through David was a forerunner of a much more important Kingdom Jesus Christ will establish in the future. Notice God pointing out the significance of David's dynasty: "He shall build Me a house, and I will establish his throne forever. I will be his Father, and he shall be My son; and I will not take My mercy away from him, as I took it from him who was before you. And I will establish him in My house and in My kingdom forever; and his throne shall be established forever." 1 Chronicles 17:12-14. God claimed David's kingdom as "My kingdom"—a type, an example or forerunner, of the coming Kingdom of God. Comprehending the relationship between David's temporal kingdom and the eternal Kingdom of God is crucial to understanding the gospel Christ and His apostles preached.

So quit seeking what YOU might eat and what YOU might drink, and quit being in anxious; for all these are the things the nations of the world are eagerly pursuing, but YOUR Father knows YOU need these things. Nevertheless, seek continually his kingdom, and these things will be added to YOU. "Have no fear, little flock, because YOUR Father has approved of giving YOU the kingdom. Sell the things belonging to YOU and give gifts of mercy. Make purses for yourselves that do not wear out, a never-failing treasure in the heavens, where a thief does not get near nor moth consumes.

For where YOUR treasure is, there YOUR hearts will be also. "Let YOUR loins be girded and YOUR lamps be burning, and YOU yourselves be like men waiting for their master when he returns from the marriage, so that at his arriving and knocking they may at once open to him. Happy are those slaves whom the master on arriving finds watching! Truly I say to YOU, He will gird himself and make them recline at the table and will come alongside and minister to them. And if he arrives in the second watch, even if in the third, and finds them thus, happy are they! But know this, that if the householder had known at what hour the thief would come, he would have kept watching and not have let his house be broken into. YOU also, keep ready, because at an hour that YOU do not think likely the Son of man is coming." Luke 12:22-40. Jesus is the one who Jehovah sent to die for mankind. For God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten Son, in order that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life. So Jehovah loved mankind to the point of sending Jesus. John 3:16

When Solomon, David's son, became king, on whose throne did he sit? And Sol´o·mon began to sit upon his LORD Jehovah’s throne as king in place of David his father and to make a success of it, and all the Israelites were obedient to him. 1 Chronicles 29:23. Not only did God regard Israel as His temporal kingdom, He regarded the throne of Israel as His throne—the throne Jesus Christ inherited. This one will be great and will be called Son of the Most High; and Jehovah God will give him the throne of David his father, and he will rule as king over the house of Jacob forever, and there will be no end of his kingdom." Luke 1:32,33.

The kings of David's dynasty were supposed to answer directly to God. But Israel and her kings were not faithful to their covenant with God, and the kingdom of Israel did not endure. Thus their direct contact with God ended. After Solomon's reign the nation of Israel split in two. The 10 northern tribes continued to be called Israel. The southern kingdom, known as Judah, remained loyal to David's dynasty of kings. But neither nation thereafter wholeheartedly followed the examples of Abraham and David. Eventually Israel and Judah both fell prey to their powerful neighbors. After a series of invasions, Israel collapsed and was taken captive by the Assyrians in 721 B.C. The kingdom of Judah fell to the Babylonians under King Nebuchadnezzar in 587 B.C. With their downfall, the temporal kingdom of Israel was crushed out of existence. Only a remnant of its people remained as captives and slaves. Among Judah's captives who were removed to Babylon was a young man of noble birth named Daniel. God gave him the ability to interpret certain dreams and visions. Through Daniel's interpretations God revealed an astoundingly hopeful future for all nations.
But Daniel determined in his heart that he would not pollute himself with the delicacies of the king and with his drinking wine. And he kept requesting of the principal court official that he might not pollute himself. Accordingly the [true] God gave Daniel over to loving-kindness and to mercy before the principal court official. Then it was that to Daniel in a night vision the secret was revealed. Consequently Daniel himself blessed the God of heaven. Daniel was answering and saying: "Let the name of God become blessed from time indefinite even to time indefinite, for wisdom and mightiness—for they belong to Him. Daniel 1:8,8; 2:19,20. Prophecy God exalted His Son Jesus, an interpretation of a dream a vision given unto Daniel through God's Holy Spirit. "This is the dream, and its interpretation we shall say before the king. You, O king, the king of kings, you to whom the God of heaven has given the kingdom, the might, and the strength and the dignity, and into whose hand he has given, wherever the sons of mankind are dwelling, the beasts of the field and the winged creatures of the heavens, and whom he has made ruler over all of them, you yourself are the head of gold. Daniel 2:36-38

Jesus' 2nd coming which God only know's the day and hour of His Son's return. Mark 13:32 "And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be brought to ruin. And the kingdom itself will not be passed on to any other people. It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite; Daniel 2:44

And Mel·chiz´e·dek king of Sa´lem brought out bread and wine, and he was priest of the Most High God. Then he blessed him and said: "Blessed be A´bram of the Most High God, Producer of heaven and earth; And blessed be the Most High God, Who has delivered your oppressors into your hand!" Genesis 14:18-20. When the morning stars joyfully cried out together, And all the sons of God began shouting in applause? Job 38:7. The angel of Jehovah is camping all around those fearing him, And he rescues them.YOU have made mortal man to ride over our head; We have come through fire and through water, And you proceeded to bring us forth to relief. Anyone dwelling in the secret place of the Most High Will procure himself lodging under the very shadow of the Almighty One. Psalms 34:7; 66:12 ; 91:1. God sent forth a savior into the world His only Begotten Son Jesus. In case you should pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they will not flood over you. In case you should walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, neither will the flame itself singe you. For I am Jehovah your God, the Holy One of Israel your Savior. Isaiah 43:2,3. God is Salvation in sending His Lamb Jesus exactly what Y'shua's name means. God so loved the world that He sent. John 3:16-18. For Jehovah YOUR God is OUR God and FATHER Creator The MOST TRUE GOD of THE Universe, no other gods Before HIM, none like HIM and the LORD of LORDS, the GREAT God, MIGHTIEST and Fear-Inspiring, who treats none with partiality nor accepts a bribe, executing judgment for the fatherless boy and the widow and loving the alien resident so as to give him bread and a mantle. Deuteronomy 10:17,18. The king answered to Daniel, and said, Of a truth it is, that your God is a God of no other gods before HIM, and a LORD of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing you could reveal this secret. At that time Neb·u·chad·nez´zar the king himself became frightened and he rose up in a hurry. He was answering and saying to his high royal officials: "Was it not three able-bodied men that we threw bound into the midst of the fire?" They were answering and saying to the king: "Yes, O king." He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God. Then it was that Neb·u·chad·nez´zar approached the door of the burning fiery furnace. He was answering and saying: "Sha´drach, Me´shach and A·bed´ne·go, YOU servants of the Most High God, step out and come here!" At that time Sha´drach, Me´shach and A·bed´ne·go were stepping out from the midst of the fire. And the satraps, the prefects and the governors and the high officials of the king that were assembled were beholding these able-bodied men, that the fire had had no power over their bodies, and not a hair of their head had been singed, and even their mantles had not been changed and the smell of fire itself had not come onto them. And as he got near to the pit, he cried out with a sad voice even to Daniel. The king was speaking up and saying to Daniel: "O Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God whom you are serving with constancy been able to rescue you from the lions?" Immediately Daniel himself spoke even with the king: "O king, live on even to times indefinite. My own God sent his angel and shut the mouth of the lions, and they have not brought me to ruin, forasmuch as before him innocence itself was found in me; and also before you, O king, no hurtful act have I done." Then it was that the king himself became very glad, and Daniel himself he commanded to be lifted up out of the pit. And Daniel was lifted up out of the pit, and there was no hurt at all found on him, because he had trusted in his God. Daniel 2:47; 3:24-27; 6:20-23

A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a slave above his lord. It is enough for the disciple to become as his teacher, and the slave as his lord. If people have called the householder Be·el´ze·bub, how much more [will they call] those of his household so? Therefore do not fear them; for there is nothing covered over that will not become uncovered, and secret that will not become known. What I tell YOU in the darkness, say in the light; and what YOU hear whispered, preach from the housetops. And do not become fearful of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; but rather be in fear of Him that can destroy both soul and body in Ge·hen´na. Do not two sparrows sell for a coin of small value? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground without YOUR Father’s [knowledge]. But the very hairs of YOUR head are all numbered. Therefore have no fear: YOU are worth more than many sparrows. "Everyone, then, that confesses union with me before men, I will also confess union with him before my Father who is in the heavens; but whoever disowns me before men, I will also disown him before my Father who is in the heavens. Do not think I came to put peace upon the earth; I came to put, not peace, but a sword. For I came to cause division, with a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a young wife against her mother-in-law. Indeed, a man’s enemies will be persons of his own household. He that has greater affection for father or mother than for me is not worthy of me; and he that has greater affection for son or daughter than for me is not worthy of me. And whoever does not accept to pick up his his tree and follow after me is not worthy of me. He that finds his soul will lose it, and he that loses his soul for my sake will find it. Matthew 10:24-39

For a child will be born for us, a son will be given to us, and the government will be on His shoulders. He will be named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6. Prince Son Of A King.

A record of the genealogy of Jesus Christ the son of David, the son of Abraham: Matthew 1:1. "As for you, Judah, your brothers will laud you. Your hand will be on the back of the neck of your enemies. The sons of your father will prostrate themselves to you. A lion cub Judah is. From the prey, MY son, you will certainly go up. He bowed down, he stretched himself out like a lion and, like a lion, who dares rouse him? The scepter will not turn aside from Judah, neither the commander’s staff from between his feet, until Shi´loh comes; and to him the obedience of the peoples will belong. Tying his full-grown ass to a vine and the descendant of his own she-ass to a choice vine, he will certainly wash his clothing in wine and his garment in the blood of grapes. Dark red are his eyes from wine, and the whiteness of his teeth is from milk. Genesis 49:8-12; Exodus 4:22; Deuteronomy 7:6;14:2; Jeremiah 31:9; Hosea 11:1; Romans 9:4.

Michael is Jesus, Jehovah's angel before God sent him: Michael was in the wilderness with the Jews. If we use the God given gift of reasoning in the wisdom of God through His Son Jesus we come to the realization & truth!, that flesh is can not be contained in the Kingdom of God. Then Jehovah’s angel appeared to him in a flame of fire in the midst of a thornbush. As he kept looking, why, here the thornbush was burning with the fire and yet the thornbush was not consumed. At this Moses said: "Let me just turn aside that I may inspect this great phenomenon, as to why the thornbush is not burnt up." When Jehovah saw that he turned aside to inspect, God at once called to him out of the midst of the thornbush and said: "Moses! Moses!" to which he said: "Here I am." Then he said: (Jehovah's angel) "Do not come near here. Draw your sandals from off your feet, because the place where you are standing is holy ground." Exodus 3:2-5

To these also by many positive proofs he showed himself alive after he had suffered, being seen by them throughout forty days and telling the things about the kingdom of God. And while he was meeting with them he gave them the orders: "Do not withdraw from Jerusalem, but keep waiting for what the Father has promised, about which YOU heard from me; (The Helper God's Holy Spirit) because John, indeed, baptized with water, but YOU will be baptized in holy spirit not many days after this." Acts 1:3,4. But the helper, the Holy Spirit, which the Father will send in my name, that one will teach YOU all things and bring back to YOUR minds all the things I told YOU. John 14:26,27. With one accord all these were persisting in prayer, together with some women and Mary the mother of Jesus and with his brothers. Now during these days Peter rose up in the midst of the brothers and said (the crowd of persons was all together about one hundred and twenty:): "Men, brothers, it was necessary for the scripture to be fulfilled, which the holy spirit spoke beforehand by David’s mouth about Judas, who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus, because he had been numbered among us and he obtained a share in this ministry. (This very man, therefore, purchased a field with the wages for unrighteousness, and pitching head foremost he noisily burst in his midst and all his intestines were poured out. It also became known to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that that field was called in their language A·kel´da·ma, that is, Field of Blood.) For it is written in the book of Psalms, ‘Let his lodging place become desolate, and let there be no dweller in it,’ and, ‘His office of oversight let someone else take.’ It is therefore necessary that of the men that assembled with us during all the time in which the Lord Jesus went in and out among us, Acts 1:14-21

Now while the day of the [festival of] Pentecost was in progress they were all together at the same place, and suddenly there occurred from heaven a noise just like that of a rushing stiff breeze, and it filled the whole house in which they were sitting. And tongues as if of fire became visible to them and were distributed about, and one sat upon each one of them, and they all became filled with holy spirit and started to speak with different tongues, just as the spirit was granting them to make utterance. Acts 2:1-3

But Peter stood up with the eleven and raised his voice and made this utterance to them: "Men of Ju·de´a and all YOU inhabitants of Jerusalem, let this be known to YOU and give ear to my sayings. These [people] are, in fact, not drunk, as YOU suppose, for it is the third hour of the day. On the contrary, this is what was said through the prophet Joel, "And in the last days," God says, "I shall pour out some of my spirit upon every sort of flesh, and YOUR sons and YOUR daughters will prophesy and YOUR young men will see visions and YOUR old men will dream dreams; and even upon my men slaves and upon my women slaves I will pour out some of my spirit in those days, and they will prophesy. And I will give portents in heaven above and signs on earth below, blood and fire and smoke mist; the sun will be turned into darkness and the moon into blood before the great and illustrious day of Jehovah arrives. And everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah will be saved."’ Acts 2:14-21

Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus the Naz·a·rene´, a man publicly shown by God to YOU through powerful works and portents and signs that God did through him in YOUR midst, just as YOU yourselves know, this [man], as one delivered up by the determined counsel and foreknowledge of God, YOU fastened to a tree by the hand of lawless men and did away with. But God resurrected him by loosing the pangs of death, because it was not possible for him to continue to be held fast by it. For David says respecting him, ‘I had Jehovah constantly before my eyes; because he is at my right hand that I may never be shaken. On this account my heart became cheerful and my tongue rejoiced greatly. Moreover, even my flesh will reside in hope; because you will not leave my soul in Ha´des, neither will you allow your loyal one to see corruption. You have made life’s ways known to me, you will fill me with good cheer with your face.’ Acts 2:22-28

"Men, brothers, it is allowable to speak with freeness of speech to YOU concerning the family head David, that he both deceased and was buried and his tomb is among us to this day. Therefore, because he was a prophet and knew that GOD had sworn to him with an oath that he would seat one from the fruitage of his loins upon his throne, he saw beforehand and spoke concerning the resurrection of the Christ, that neither was he forsaken in Ha´des nor did his flesh see corruption. This Jesus OUR TRUE FATHER AND GOD Resurrected, of which fact we are all witnesses. Therefore because he was exalted to the right hand of GOD and received the promised Holy Spirit from OUR Father, he has poured out this which YOU see and hear. Actually David did not ascend to the heavens, but he himself says, ‘Jehovah said to my Lord: "Sit at my right hand, until I place your enemies as a stool for your feet." Therefore let all the house of Israel know for a certainty that GOD MADE him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom YOU crucified." Acts 2:29-36

The God of Abraham and of Isaac and of Jacob, the God of our forefathers, "The God and Father of Jesus", has glorified His Servant, Jesus, whom YOU, for YOUR part, delivered up and disowned before Pilate’s face, when he had decided to release him. Yes, YOU disowned that holy and righteous one, and YOU asked for a man, a murderer, to be freely granted to YOU, whereas YOU killed the Chief Agent of life. But God raised him up from the dead, of which fact we are witnesses. Consequently his name, by [our] faith in his name, has made this man strong whom YOU behold and know, and the faith that is through him has given the man this complete soundness in the sight of all of YOU. And now, brothers, I know that YOU acted in ignorance, just as YOUR rulers also did. But in this way God has fulfilled the things he announced beforehand through the mouth of all the prophets, that His Christ and Son would suffer. "Repent, therefore, and turn around so as to get YOUR sins blotted out, that seasons of refreshing may come from the person of Jehovah and that he may send forth the Christ appointed for YOU, Jesus, whom heaven, indeed, must hold within itself until the times of restoration of all things of which God spoke through the mouth of His holy prophets of old time. In fact, Moses said, ‘Jehovah God will raise up for YOU from among YOUR brothers a prophet like me. YOU must listen to him according to all the things he speaks to YOU. Indeed, any soul that does not listen to that Prophet will be completely destroyed from among the people.’ And all the prophets, in fact, from Samuel on and those in succession, just as many as have spoken, have also plainly declared these days. YOU are the sons of the prophets and of the covenant which God covenanted with YOUR forefathers, saying to Abraham, ‘And in your seed all the families of the earth will be blessed.’ To YOU first God, after raising up his Servant, sent him forth to bless YOU by turning each one away from YOUR wicked deeds." Acts 3:13-26

Upon hearing this they with one accord raised their voices to God and said: "Sovereign LORD, you are the One who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and all the things in them, and who through holy spirit said by the mouth of our forefather David, YOUR servant, ‘Why did nations become tumultuous and peoples meditate upon empty things? The kings of the earth took their stand and the rulers massed together as one against Jehovah and against His anointed one.’ Acts 4:24-26

Why have the nations been in tumult And the national groups themselves kept muttering an empty thing? The kings of earth take their stand And high officials themselves have massed together as one Against Jehovah and against His anointed one, The very One sitting in the heavens will laugh; Jehovah himself will hold them in derision. At that time he will speak to them in his anger And in his hot displeasure he will disturb them, [Saying:] "I, even I, have installed my king Upon Zion, my holy mountain." Let me refer to the decree of Jehovah; He has said to me: "You are my son; I, today, I have become your father. Ask of me, that I may give nations as your inheritance And the ends of the earth as your own possession. You will break them with an iron scepter, As though a potter’s vessel you will dash them to pieces." And now, O kings, exercise insight; Let yourselves be corrected, O judges of the earth. Serve Jehovah with fear And be joyful with trembling. Psalms 2:1,2,4-11. Moreover, the multitude of those who had believed had one heart and soul, and not even one would say that any of the things he possessed was his own; but they had all things in common. Also, with great power the apostles continued giving forth the witness concerning the resurrection of the Lord Jesus; and undeserved kindness in large measure was upon them all. In fact, there was not one in need among them; for all those who were possessors of fields or houses would sell them and bring the values of the things sold and they would deposit them at the feet of the apostles. In turn distribution would be made to each one, just as he would have the need. Moreover, through the hands of the apostles many signs and portents continued to occur among the people; and they were all with one accord in Sol´o·mon’s colonnade. True, not a one of the others had the courage to join himself to them; nevertheless, the people were extolling them. And every day in the temple and from house to house they continued without letup teaching and declaring the good news about the Christ, Jesus. Acts 4:32-35; 5:12,13,42

Did Paul see a relationship between the gospel and God's promises to David?. "Paul, a bondservant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated to the gospel of God which He promised before through His prophets in the Holy Scriptures, concerning His Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who was born of the seed of David according to the flesh, and declared to be the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead." Romans 1:1-4. The second promise of Christ was to Abraham, Genesis 22:18, where God said, "In your seed shall all the Gentiles be blessed." If all the Gentiles are to be blessed, then it is certain that otherwise, apart from this seed of Abraham, they were all unblessed and under a curse. From this it follows that human nature has nothing but cursed seed and bears nothing but unblessed fruit; otherwise, there would be no need for all of them to be blessed through this seed of Abraham. Whoever says "all" excludes no one; therefore, apart from Christ, all who are born of man must be under the devil, cursed in sin and death. Paul explained this concept: "And afterward (Israel) asked for a king; so God gave them Saul the son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, for forty years. And when He had removed him, He raised up for them David as king, to whom also He gave witness and said, 'I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart, who will do all My will.' From this man's seed, according to the promise, God raised up for Israel a SaviorJesus." Acts 13:21-23; compare 2 Timothy 2:8; Revelation 22:16.

For I am not ashamed of the good news; it is, in fact, God’s power for salvation to everyone having faith, to the Jew first and also to the Greek also the Gentiles; for in it God’s righteousness is being revealed by reason of faith and toward faith, just as it is written: "But the righteous one—by means of faith he will live." How, in turn, will they preach unless they have been sent forth? Just as it is written:"How comely are the feet of those who declare good news of good things!" Nevertheless, they did not all obey the good news. For Isaiah says: "Jehovah, who put faith in the thing heard from us? "So faith follows the thing heard. In turn the thing heard is through the word about Christ. But Isaiah very boldly and says: "I was found by those who were not seeking me; I became manifest to those who were not asking for me." But as respects Israel he says: "All day long I have spread out my hands toward a people that is disobedient and talks back." Romans 1:16,17; 10:15-21.

If we have sown spiritual things to YOU, is it something great if we shall reap things for the flesh from YOU? If other men partake of this authority over YOU, do we not much more so? Nevertheless, we have not made use of this authority, but we are bearing all things, in order that we might not offer any hindrance to the good news about the Christ. Do YOU not know that the men performing sacred duties eat the things of the temple, and those constantly attending at the altar have a portion for themselves with the altar? In this way, too, the Lord ordained for those proclaiming the good news to live by means of the good news. I am declaring the good news, it is no reason for me to boast, for necessity is laid upon me. Really, woe is me if I did not declare the good news! If I perform this willingly, I have a reward; but if I do it against my will, all the same I have a stewardship entrusted to me. What, then, is my reward? That while declaring the good news I may furnish the good news without cost, to the end that I may not abuse my authority in the good news. 1 Corinthians 9:11-18

I marvel that YOU are being so quickly removed from the One who called YOU with Christ’s undeserved kindness over to another sort of good news. But it is not another; only there are certain ones who are causing YOU trouble and wanting to pervert the good news about the Christ. However, even if we or an angel out of heaven were to declare to YOU as good news something beyond what we declared to YOU as good news, let them be accursed. As we have said above, I also now say again, Whoever it is that is declaring to YOU as good news something beyond what YOU accepted, let him be accursed.

Is it, in fact, men I am now trying to persuade or God? Or am I seeking to please men? If I were yet pleasing men, I would not be Christ’s slave. For I put YOU on notice, brothers, that the good news which was declared by me as good news is not something human; for neither did I receive it from man, nor was I taught [it], except through revelation by Jesus Christ. I was far more zealous for the traditions of my fathers.

But when God, who separated me from my mother’s womb and called [me] through His undeserved kindness, thought good to reveal His Son in connection with me, that I might declare the good news about him to the nations, I did not go at once into conference with flesh and blood. But I saw no one else of the apostles, only James the brother of the Lord. Now as to the things I am writing YOU, look! in the sight of God, I am not lying. Galatians 1:6-20

For this very cause I remind you to stir up like a fire the gift of God which is in you through the laying of my hands upon you. For God gave us not a spirit of cowardice, but that of power and of love and of soundness of mind.

Therefore do not become ashamed of the witness about our Lord, neither of me a prisoner for his sake, but take your part in suffering evil for the good news according to the power of God.

He saved us and called us with a holy calling, not by reason of our works, but by reason of His own purpose and undeserved kindness. This was given us in connection with Christ Jesus before times long lasting, but now it has been made clearly evident through the manifestation of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who has abolished death but has shed light upon life and incorruption through the good news, for which I was appointed an apostle and teacher. For this very cause I am also suffering these things, but I am not ashamed.

For I know the one whom I have believed, and I am confident he is able to guard what I have laid up in trust with him until that day. Keep holding the pattern of healthful words that you heard from me with the faith and love that are in connection with Christ Jesus. This fine trust guard through the holy spirit which is dwelling in us. 2 Timothy 1:6-14
